3D Printed Pull-Cord Handle for Attic Trap Door
I don't know if the original handle got lost or broken, but I was getting very tired of grabbing a tiny knot that was starting to brush burn/hurt my fingertips; so I got the idea to use my 3D printer for its first on-demand practical job and this model I was able to make in Blender does not disappoint. Believe me when I tell you the strength of this thing is UNBELIEVABLE!
I HIGHLY recommend submerging the part in sand and ANNEALING it for an hour in the oven - this is the best way to get the maximum strength out of regular PLA. I did mine at 215°F, it may have shrunk slightly but if so, not very much because the rope still fits easily, it also didn't warp at all.
